Corinthians colours surfaced at England’s World Cup camp on Friday as Noni Madueke trained in the Brazilian club’s kit.
According to Meu Timao, the Arsenal and England forward wore a full Timão strip during preparations for the tournament.
The 24-year-old used last season’s third shirt and shorts carrying Memphis Depay’s name and number, with Depay set to be Corinthians’ only World Cup representative. Madueke worked alongside Bukayo Saka and Eberechi Eze, both included in Thomas Tuchel’s 26-man squad.
The trio are expected to link up with the rest of the group on Saturday, before a friendly against New Zealand in the United States. Arsenal players were given extra time to report after last Saturday’s UEFA Champions League final, a penalty shootout defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.
Corinthians gear had already drawn attention on Thursday when Memphis photographed Noa Lang, the Netherlands forward, in the club’s 2024 training kit.
England are in Group L with Croatia, Ghana and Panama, opening against Croatia in Dallas on 17 June. The Netherlands are in Group F with Japan, Sweden and Tunisia, starting on 14 June against Japan, also at the A&AT Stadium.
Corinthians will receive $11,000 per day from FIFA while Memphis is at the World Cup, around R$ 55.7 thousand. The club have $132,000 guaranteed for the group stage, about R$ 670 thousand, and this could reach $396,000 if he advances to the final, surpassing R$ 2 million.
