Nordan Mukiele, the 20-year-old Rennes forward and younger brother of Nordi, struck his first professional goal in a 4-0 win at Nice on Sunday.

Brought on for Arnaud Nordin, he sealed the rout with a measured right-foot shot from the edge of the box past Yéhvann Diouf. L'Équipe notes that it came four days after a Challenge Espoirs brace.

The Mukiele family share a theme, first names starting with N. Currently injured, Nordi, 28, a Sunderland international and former PSG defender, celebrated with Norvin, 25, of Versailles in N3, as Nordan finished it.

On only his third senior outing, the winger known as Mukiele junior on his shirt had his moment. Having turned 20 last month, the academy product is now pushing as a left-sided option in the 4-3-3. He has credited a father who played in Congo for the family’s drive.

After spells with Paris FC and RC Joinville, he signed a three-year first professional deal in March 2024, then added another year last summer. Reserve coach Sébastien Tambouret says last season’s standout N3 and Challenge Espoirs displays were checked by niggles.

Tambouret highlights power, burst into space, two-footedness and versatility, plus a grounded, team-first personality and strong family support. With the reserves at Lens last Wednesday in the Challenge Espoirs, a 3-2 win, he scored twice, a hint of what followed in Nice.
