Norway will rightly fancy their chances against five-time world champions

Norway hope to welcome Julian Ryerson back for Sunday’s World Cup last-16 tie against Brazil.

The defender has been sidelined since the win over Senegal in the group stage - being forced off after just 13 minutes with a thigh injury - but is now pushing to be involved against the five-time champions.

While Ryerson is understood to be close to a return, it remains to be seen whether he is fit enough to start.

Norway head coach Stale Solbakken is otherwise expected to keep faith with the side that saw off Ivory Coast.

Much of the focus once again on prolific striker Erling Haaland, who has scored five goals in four appearances to establish himself firmly in the Golden Boot race.

Only Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe have found the net more often, with Haaland sitting just two goals behind the Argentine top scorer.

Behind him, Arsena captain Martin Odegaard has been instrumental in creating chances, providing three assists. Bodo/Glimt's Patrick Berg has contributed two.

Either side of Haaland will be Atletico Madrid striker Alexander Sorloth and RB Leipzig’s Antonio Nusa, the latter of which scored his first World Cup goal against Ivory Coast in the group stage.

Fuham’s Oscar Bobb will be pushing for a start after a lively cameo against Ivory Coast.
