Bayern Munich honorary president Uli Hoeneß's revealed surprising details about the club’s loan move for Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson after facing criticism over the deal’s cost.

The real price of the loan

Reports suggested Bayern paid 16.5m euro to secure Jackson on loan with mandatory purchase clause.

However Hoeneß told Sport1’s Doppelpass that the numbers were misleading:

"We didn't pay €16.5m. The player and his agent contributed €3m, so Bayern’s share is €13.5m" he explained.

Permanent move ruled out

Hoeneß was categorical about Jackson’s future:

"We'll never sign him permanently. That would only happen if he starts 40 match and that will never be the case"

Criticism & squad context

The German champions came under fire for investing in Jackson who struggled at Chelsea last season and fell behind Joao Pedro & Liam Delap in the pecking order.

Despite this, Bayern see him only as backup with Harry Kane firmly established as their main striker following Thomas Muller’s MLS departure.

Hoeneß on Bayern’s transfer market stance

The Bayern icon defended the club’s summer business:
