Manchester United’s chances of moving on Rasmus Hojlund this summer has received a major fillip if a recent report is to be believed.

After seeing his No.9 score a meagre four Premier League goals last season, while struggling with his overall play, Ruben Amorim decided to inform INEOS that he wants a quality replacement.

Which is why they have been trying to offload the Dane, with Inter Milan reportedly leading the race for the 22-year-old who ended the season with 10 goals and four assists in all competitions.

The Nerazzurri were initially offering a simple loan deal while the Red Devils were looking for a permanent solution. As relayed by The Peoples Person, following their acquisition of Ange-Yoan Bonny, Inter have now moved on to other targets.

Amorim would not have been pleased with this update, after seeing the co-owners struggle to sell any of their five unwanted stars.

But it seems where one door closes, another opens. Inter’s fierce rivals AC Milan are now preparing to swoop for the ex-Atalanta ace, as per Sport Mediaset.

They have revealed that the Rossoneri are short on options up top, and have been linked with a move for players like Dusan Vlahovic and Victor Boniface.

Now, Rasmus Hojlund is also under consideration, with AC Milan hopeful a loan with an option or obligation to buy will be sanctioned.

While the Danish ace has made it pretty clear that he wants to stay, Amorim needs more quality, and a loan with an obligation just might be greenlit.

Who INEOS bring in as replacement will be interesting to watch. The club have already missed out on top targets such as Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen.

Given Aston Villa’s asking price for Ollie Watkins, and the other less-than-stellar names on the market, the Old Trafford side might think it best to keep the Denmark international.

Amorim will not be pleased with what he has seen from INEOS so far. He and the rest of the fans are hoping things will turnaround soon.
