Manchester United Ruben Amorim is reportedly keen to lure another one of his Sporting CP disciples in the shape of Ousmane Diomande.
As reported in recent hours, the Red Devils are expected to launch a new onslaught for their longtime target, Viktor Gyokeres.
The Premier League giants had turned to other profiles in recent weeks, but with Liam Delap favouring a move to Chelsea and Victor Osimhen on the verge of signing for Al-Hilal, they appear to be running short of options.
The same goes for Gyokeres who initially snubbed United due to the lack of European football next season, but could now reconsider his choice, as he doesn’t have too many choices at the moment.
But according to A Bola (via Sport Witness), United are also after the Swedish striker’s teammate, Diomande, but will face stern competition for his signature, as Liverpool, Bayern Munich, and above all, Crystal Palace, are also keeping tabs on the situation.

The 21-year-old is an Ivorian defender, born and raised in Abidjan. In January 2022, he was poached by Danish side, FC Midtjylland, before spending the 2022/23 campaign on loan at Portuguese club Mafra.
During his time in Portugal, he caught the eyes of Sporting scouts, so he ended up sealing a permanent transfer to the Lisbon-based giants, where he got the chance to sharpen his skills under the tutelage of Ruben Amorim, before the latter left to join Man United in November 2024.
The young centre-back is coming off a largely impressive campaign where he made 46 appearances in all competitions, contributing with two goals and one assist.
Diomande is tied to Sporting with a contract that expires in June 2027, and it includes a release clause of €80 million. Nevertheless, the source claims that the Portuguese giants are willing to sell him for €60 million, which obviously remains a considerable figure.
Man Utd have been occupied with the attacking revamp, but they could do with a new defender, especially following the departures of Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans, in addition to Lisandro Martinez’s long-term injury.
