Nottingham Forest, Leeds United’s opening-weekend opponents, have appointed Oliver Glasner as head coach after Vitor Pereira’s exit. The club said in a statement that he takes charge following a mutual termination of Pereira’s deal.
Forest endured a troubled 2025-26 league campaign while chasing Europa League success, going through four managers in Nuno Espirito Santo, Ange Postecoglou, Sean Dyche and, most recently, Vitor Pereira.
Pereira arrived in February after Dyche was sacked and guided Forest to 16th, five points above the drop and two behind Leeds.
Glasner arrives from Crystal Palace and has lifted major trophies. He guided Eintracht Frankfurt to the 2021/22 UEFA Europa League, took Wolfsburg into the UEFA Champions League and, in England, won the 2024/25 FA Cup, the FA Community Shield and the UEFA Conference League the following season.
Forest present him as a progressive coach with a winning mentality who develops players and builds attacking teams. He begins work immediately as pre-season starts ahead of the new campaign.
