Nottingham Forest are exploring a move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Lucas Bergvall as they look to strengthen in central areas this summer.
According to Nottingham Post, the 20-year-old has been identified as a possible target with Forest planning for the likely exit of Elliot Anderson to Manchester City.
City have seen two bids rejected, the latest worth £106m up front plus £15m in add-ons. Forest are said to want closer to £130m, including a significant initial payment.
Bergvall has reportedly asked to leave Spurs over concerns about minutes under Roberto De Zerbi. He made only one start and played 112 minutes last season, and fears fewer opportunities without European football and with planned midfield recruits for 2026/27.
Forest would face competition from Bayern Munich, Aston Villa and Chelsea. With five years left on his contract, Spurs are expected to seek a substantial fee, with reports suggesting £45m to £50m.
At the World Cup with Sweden, Bergvall came off the bench to register an assist in a 5-1 win over Tunisia in their opener, then was a substitute again in a 5-1 defeat to the Netherlands.
He is viewed as a box-to-box talent with a strong engine, physical power and refined technique, though still a work in progress, sometimes prone to inconsistent decisions, impatience and being caught on the ball at high tempo.
