This past summer, Paris Saint-Germain showed interest in Nottingham Forest defender Murillo as they aimed to strengthen their center-back options. Nonetheless, the Premier League side have no interest in losing their marquee player.

In the end, PSG opted to sign Willian Pacho, who has quickly made an impact at the club. However, central defense is still an area that could be improved, whether in January or next summer.

Murillo’s key role in helping Nottingham Forest avoid relegation from the Premier League last season showcased his talent. If he continues to develop this season, top clubs like PSG will likely keep a close eye on him.

That said, PSG wouldn’t be the only club interested in the Brazilian if they revisit their summer pursuit. Recent rumors have linked Murillo to Chelsea and Liverpool, who are also looking to strengthen their defense.

Former Manchester United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown says Nottingham Forest are making every effort to hold onto Murillo as Premier League rivals show increasing interest.

“He’s been incredibly impressive so far this season,” Brown told Football Insider. “So, from what I hear, they’re doing everything they can to keep him at the club. He’s improved massively since he came to the club and now he’s done well enough to attract interest from the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool.

“But he’s such an important player at Forest and they don’t want to see him leave. He fits in with the way they play, and he fits the club too, he’s got the admiration of the fans.

“Sometimes with players like that, you take them out of that sort of environment and they’re not quite the same player – so that may be the case with him. Either way, he’s one they want to hang on to regardless of the interest, both in January and the summer.”
