Sean Dyche says Nottingham Forest have held talks with loanee Oleksandr Zinchenko about his situation at the club, with limited minutes meaning the club could reassess his season-long stay.
According to Nottingham Post, there is no break clause in his loan and Arsenal currently have no squad space for him, complicating any early change before Saturday’s 5.30pm meeting with his parent club.
Dyche did not confirm whether Zinchenko has been told he can leave, but said they have spoken, set out his position and will see what happens.
Zinchenko has made just five Premier League appearances for Forest and has been replaced by Ola Aina in the Europa League squad since the Nigerian returned to fitness.
It has been a quiet January for Forest so far, with Arnaud Kalimuendo’s loan to Eintracht Frankfurt the only significant business.
Dyche described a striker as the obvious priority and said the club are exploring various options to strengthen.
He called the January market unusual, said Forest must be proactive and reactive, and noted a recent meeting with the owner focused on aligning targets and getting deals over the line.
