Nottingham Forest's eight-match unbeaten Premier League run ended with a 3-2 defeat at Old Trafford in their penultimate game, despite standout displays from Elliot Anderson and Morgan Gibbs-White.
Luke Shaw put Manchester United ahead inside five minutes. Nottingham Post provided the following Forest player ratings.
Gibbs-White was denied just after 20 minutes following a neat flick from Chris Wood. United then hit the post through Bryan Mbeumo and Casemiro shot wide. Nicolas Dominguez headed over from an Anderson free-kick as Forest threatened.
After the break Mbeumo missed a golden chance to make it 2-0, then Morato levelled on 53 with a free header from Anderson's delivery, the goal upheld after a VAR offside check. Two minutes later Matheus Cunha's strike stood following a VAR handball review against Mbeumo. Mbeumo made it 3-1 on 76, before Gibbs-White replied two minutes later.
Matz Sels 7/10 kept Forest in it. Neco Williams 6/10, Nikola Milenkovic 5/10, Morato 6/10 with the goal, Luca Netz 6.5/10, Dominguez 7/10. Anderson 8.5/10 with two assists, Omari Hutchinson 6/10, Igor Jesus 6/10, Gibbs-White 8.5/10 and scored, Chris Wood 6/10.
