West Ham set to be without some key players for visit of in-form Man United
Nuno Espirito Santo has refused to name which West Ham players will miss the Manchester United match.
West Ham welcome Man United to the London Stadium on Tuesday night hoping to build on their 2-0 win over Burnley at the weekend, a result that boosted their Premier League survival bid.
The Hammers go into the midweek round of fixtures three points from safety and will move level on points, albeit potentially for only 24 hours, with Nottingham Forest with victory over the Red Devils.
Interestingly, West Ham have not lost to Man Utd at home since September 2021.
However, hopes of recording a fourth straight home win against Michael Carrick’s in-form side have been hit after Nuno revealed the latest team news in the pre-match press conference.
“Unfortunately we're going to have some players out,” the Irons boss told reporters. “It is what it is, but I'm not going to say who it is.”
While Nuno keeps the identity of the West Ham absentees under wraps, one player definitely ruled out is experienced goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski.
Fabianski, who departed in June before rejoining in September of the same year as a free agent, has been dealing with a lower back injury for over five months.
In addition, Jean-Clair Todibo misses out as he serves the second of his three-match suspension after being shown a straight red card for violent conduct in the London derby defeat to Chelsea last month.
Callum Wilson, El Hadji Malick Diouf, Valentin Castellanos. Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summerville were all substituted in the second half at Turf Moor, but it remains to be seen if any are the players in question.
