Official: Allegri named Serie A Coach of The Month for September | OneFootball

Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri has won the Serie A Coach of the Month for September.

Lega Serie A has announced that Allegri is the Serie A coach of the month for September.

The Italian tactician will receive the award before Milan’s next home game against Fiorentina on Sunday, October 19.

“The award was assigned by a jury of Directors of sports media who evaluated each coach on the basis of technical and sporting criteria and the quality of play of their teams, as well as their behaviour/fair play during matches,” Lega Serie A said in a statement.

“For the final calculation were considered the matchdays from 3 to 5 of Serie A 2025/2026.”

Lega Serie A CEO Luigi De Siervo said: “Massimiliano Allegri’s influence on Milan’s excellent start to the season is crystal clear. The Tuscan coach has been able to immediately transform the Rossoneri, skilfully tailoring a suit for the players who take the field, enhancing the qualities of individual players and instilling a winning mentality, a sense of sacrifice and determination in a short period of time, all essential traits for achieving great goals.

“Allegri’s return to the bench has given Serie A back one of its most successful coaches in its history, who, with his tactical knowledge, experience, and game-reading ability, is leading Milan back to competing for the most prestigious titles.”

Milan sit third in the Serie A table, two points below the joint-table leaders Roma and Napoli.

September was quite a successful month for the Rossoneri as Christian Pulisic, the current league’s top scorer, won the Serie A Player of the Month Award.

Allegri is the second-highest-paid coach in Serie A

Allegri is the second-highest paid coach in Serie A this season with a €5m net salary, the same as Roma boss Gian Piero Gasperini. Only Napoli’s Antonio Conte earns more with €8m net per season.

Allegri returned to Milan last summer, signing a two-year deal with an option for a further campaign. He had already coached the Rossoneri from 2010 to January 2014, winning the Serie A title in 2010-11.
