Amadou Haidara (27) has joined RC Lens from RB Leipzig, signing a three-and-a-half year deal, the Ligue 1 club have confirmed. 

Haidara is currently away representing Mali at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), but when he returns from Morocco, he will not return to Germany. Instead, he will link up with his new teammates at Lens. The midfielder has not played a single minute of first-team football for RB Leipzig this season. 

A contract until 2029

With just a few months remaining on his deal, Les Sang et Or have swooped in to land him on a cut-price deal. It is reported that Haidara has completed the move to the Bollaert for a fee of just €2m.

His contract with his new club will run until the summer of 2029. The Mali international (48 caps) has completed the move ahead of the opening of the transfer window on 1st January.
