Carlo Ancelotti and Real Madrid have officially parted company and the Italian coach sent a heartfelt message to the Merengues and their fans: ‘The magical nights at the Bernabéu are now part of football history.’

Ancelotti has already signed a contract with Brazil national team, but Real Madrid only confirmed the coach’s departure today.

Ancelotti posted an Instagram video following the Real Madrid statement to bid farewell to their fans.

“Today we part ways again. Once again, I carry with me in my heart every moment of this wonderful second stint as Real Madrid manager,” wrote the Italian tactician via FootballEspana.

“They have been unforgettable years, an incredible journey filled with emotions, titles, and, above all, the pride of representing this club.

“Thanks to President Florentino Perez, the club, my players, my staff, and, above all, to this unique fan base that has always made me feel like one of them. What we’ve achieved together will forever remain in the memory of Real Madrid fans, not only for the triumphs, but for the way we achieved them. The magical nights at the Bernabéu are now part of football history.

What Florentino said about Ancelotti leaving Real Madrid

Ancelotti has won the Champions League three times in Madrid, twice in his second spell. The Italian tactician had previously won two with Milan, so he became the coach with the most Champions League trophies and the most successful coach in Real Madrid’s history.

Real Madrid are expected to replace Ancelotti with their former midfielder Xabi Alonso.

The Merengues’ coach, Florentino Perez, posted a statement on the club’s official website saying goodbye to Ancelotti.

“Carlo Ancelotti is now forever part of the great Real Madrid family. We are proud to have enjoyed a coach who has helped us achieve so much success and who has also embodied our club’s values ​​in an exemplary manner.”
