La Liga champions Barcelona have this week announced a fresh setback on the personnel front in the club’s first-team ranks.

This comes amid confirmation that Fermín López is set for an incoming spell on the sidelines.

Midfielder Fermín played his part earlier this week, as Barcelona were put to the sword by three goals to nil at the hands of Chelsea.

And along the way, the 22-year-old, evidently, picked up an injury problem.

As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of the Blaugrana on Thursday afternoon:

‘First-team player Fermín López has a small injury to the soleus muscle in his right leg, and his estimated recovery time is around two weeks.’

Fermín’s setback comes just as the Barcelona treatment room begins to clear out.

The likes of Joan García and Raphinha made use of the international break to recover fitness, with Pedri also on the verge of his much-needed comeback.
