Official: Barcelona sign Marcus Rashford from Manchester United | OneFootball

After a long and frustrating search, FC Barcelona have finally signed a new left-winger, with Marcus Rashford arriving from Manchester United on a loan deal with a buy option.

“FC Barcelona and Manchester United have reached an agreement for the loan of the player Marcus Rashford until June 30, 2026. The agreement also includes a purchase option for the English forward,” the club statement read.

The 27-year-old attacker will take the No. 14 shirt at Barcelona, following in the footsteps of his idol, Thierry Henry.

Rashford had been on Barcelona’s radar in January, but a move was not feasible in the winter due to the lack of Financial Fair Play margin.

Come summer, the links resurfaced again, but the Manchester United outcast was not the top target as Barça had their eyes on other options such as Nico Williams and Luis Diaz.

But after being snubbed again by Nico and deeming the Diaz operation out of their reach, Barcelona quickly moved to Rashford, who was holding out for his ‘dream’ move.

The 27-year-old has joined the Catalans on a loan deal until June 2026, with the La Liga champions containing an option to make the transfer permanent for a reported fee of €30 million.

Barça will be covering the entirety of the player’s wages, reported to be around €14 million per year gross after he took a sizeable pay cut.

Rashford arrived in Barcelona over the weekend and successfully completed his medicals on Monday. The forward also trained with his team on Tuesday, even though the transfer was yet to be made official.

Rashford becomes the club’s third major signing of the summer after Joan Garcia and Roony Bardghji.
