One day after VfB Stuttgart head coach Sebastian Hoeneß confirmed his imminent arrival, Real Madrid’s Chema Andrés was officially unveiled as a Stuttgart signing. The 20-year-old inked a five-year-contract with his new Bundesliga outfit Kicker currently confirms reports originating from Sky Germany and Sport Bild concerning the nature of the deal.
According to all three sources, Real Madrid received a €3m base-transfer-fee for their midfield talent. Bonuses remain negligible as Real have secured both a buyback option and a 50 percent re-sale clause. The existence of both these provisions demonstrate how highly the La Liga giants value their young talent. A re-sale clause of such a high value remains rare.
For now, Chema Andrés will seek to raise his profile in the Baden-Württemberg capital. Should he succeed, the Spanish U19 international will be back in his native country before too long. The Valencia native’s current estimated market value is still just €800,000.
“In Chema Andres, we have signed a player who fits our profile for a the defensive midfield positions very well,” Stuttgart board-member-for-sport Fabian Wohlgemuth noted in a club statement. “He is already performing at a high level, is technically and tactically well-trained and, as a young player, still has great potential for development.”
“My first impressions are very positive,” the youngster himself said of his new club. “I’m happy to be here. The Bundesliga is a great league. I’ve always dreamed of moving to a special club in one of the top leagues and taking the next steps in my career there.”
