Édouard Mendy remains loyal to Al-Ahli. The Senegal international goalkeeper signed a new contract extension with the Saudi club on Monday, December 16. Now 33 years old, the former Chelsea shot-stopper has committed himself until June 2028.
Born in Montivilliers, Mendy has just completed a remarkable 2025, highlighted by a historic achievement. By winning the Asian Champions League with Al-Ahli, Édouard Mendy became the first goalkeeper in football history to lift a continental trophy on three different continents. He now joins Riyad Mahrez as the only other player to accomplish this feat.
Before heading into AFCON 2025 with Senegal, he put pen to paper on a new deal with Al-Ahli. The Saudi club made the announcement on its social media channels, sharing a video featuring their number one goalkeeper.
