Juventus have released their matchday squad ahead of Saturday’s direct showdown against Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico.
The two clubs are involved in an epic battle for the fourth Champions League spot, which also involves Roma and Bologna. The Bianconeri and the Roman duo enter the weekend level on points, while the Emilian side is only one point behind.
This will also be a special occasion for Juventus manager, Igor Tudor, who will take on Lazio for the first time since leaving the club last June. But unfortunately for the Croatian, he will have to negotiate this contest with a somewhat depleted squad, as seven of his first-team players have been ruled out of the match.
Five Key Battles to Watch in Lazio vs Juventus: Romagnoli & Gila Seeking Vengeance
Andrea Cambiaso became the latest addition to the injury list after suffering a slight muscle issue last weekend against Bologna. Lloyd Kelly is also unavailable, while Teun Koopmeiners failed to recover in time. Moreover, Arkadiusz Milik, Juan Cabal and Gleison Bremer are the club’s longtime absentees.
In addition to the six injured players, Juventus are sorely missing their influential attacker Kenan Yildiz who was slapped with a two-match ban after deliberately elbowing Monza’s Alessandro Bianco. The Turkish youngster skipped last weekend’s contest against Bologna, and still has another match to sit out.
On a more positive note for Juventus, Dusan Vlahovic and Federico Gatti have been included in the squad that travelled to Rome on Friday. However, the Serbian striker and the Italian defender are both expected to start on the bench.
