Arsenal have confirmed that Karl Hein will spend the current season on loan at Werder Bremen as he seeks more regular game time.
The Estonian goalkeeper had anticipated becoming the club’s second choice upon his return from a loan spell last season. However, Arsenal opted to sign a more experienced goalkeeper in Kepa Arrizabalaga, making it clear that Hein’s immediate opportunities at the Emirates would be limited. As a result, the decision was made for him to move elsewhere to continue his development.
Throughout the transfer window, Hein has been actively seeking a new team, and he was linked with several clubs, primarily outside the Premier League. The opportunity to join Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga provides him with the chance to gain valuable experience in a competitive league while competing for the position of second-choice goalkeeper.
Arsenal officially announced on their website that Hein will spend the season on loan in Germany, where he is expected to work hard to earn as much game time as possible. Although he will not be featuring at the Emirates this season, the loan represents an important step in his development, allowing him to gain experience at a high level and demonstrate his capabilities.

While Hein is unlikely to start immediately, the loan spell provides him with the chance to challenge for playing time and prove his worth. Arsenal and their supporters will watch with interest to see how much he features for Werder Bremen, and the club remain supportive of his progress. Hein has shown promise as a goalkeeper, and this move allows him to continue developing in a competitive environment, with the potential to earn a permanent move in the future or return to Arsenal with increased experience.
Hein’s professionalism and talent are evident, and the loan move to Werder Bremen offers him a platform to further his career. Supporters and analysts alike will be keen to follow his performances in the Bundesliga, and the hope is that he makes the most of this opportunity to play regularly and continue his development as a top-level goalkeeper.
