Lazio have announced the signing of Real Madrid youngster Bruno Galassi, who has been training with the first team in pre-season.

The news has been in the air since last month, when it was revealed that the 19-year-old midfielder will join the Biancocelesti on a free transfer, with Los Merengues retaining a 50% sell-on fee on a future resale, similar to Mario Gila’s case. Moreover, the teenager was spotted training alongside the rest of Gennaro Gattuso’s ranks since the start of pre-season.

Although the player’s transfer was the worst-kept secret in Rome, the official Lazio website confirmed Galassi’s acquisition on Friday.

Galassi’s Background & Playing Role

Galassi is a Spanish player of Argentine origins. He began his career at the Rayo Vallecano academy before moving to Getafe in 2021. Two years later, he made the nearby switch to Real Madrid, and went on to represent the club’s U17, U18 and third team.

The teenager is a central midfielder who was occasionally deployed as a centre-back. He will likely spend the campaign with Lazio’s Primavera squad, but perhaps he’ll break into the senior team by impressing Gattuso and his technical staff this summer.
