Official: Real Madrid star included in Club World Cup Team of the Week | OneFootball

A member of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has been named in the official Club World Cup Team of the Week.

The player in question? Thibat Courtois.

Goalkeeper Courtois was for his part in from the off once more on Sunday evening, as Real Madrid locked horns with Mexican outfit Pachuca.

And after Los Blancos were reduced to 10 men early on owing to Raúl Asencio’s dismissal, Courtois went on to play a key role in his side’s eventual triumph.

The Belgian racked up a number of important saves, again proving himself one of world football’s very best between the posts.

And as alluded to above, a day on, such efforts have been aptly recognised.

This comes amid confirmation that Courtois has secured for himself a place in the official FIFA Club World Cup Team of the Week.

The former Chelsea man is joined by another La Liga star, too, in the form of Atlético Madrid midfielder Pablo Barrios:
