Real Madrid starlet Gonzalo Garcia began the new year in style, scoring a brilliant hat-trick in the Merengues’ first game of 2026 against Real Betis.

With Kylian Mbappe unavailable due to injury, the young academy striker got a chance to start and he made the most of his chance, leading the team to a 5-1 victory.

One of his goals on the day, a brilliant volley from just outside the box after bringing the ball under his spell from a Federico Valverde cross, by chesting it, has now been named the La Liga Goal of the Month for January.

It was a spectacular strike from the young forward, who has become a regular part of the first-team setup at Real Madrid in the ongoing campaign.

So far this term, Gonzalo has made 24 senior appearances across all competitions for Los Blancos, scoring five and assisting two goals in the process.

The 21-year-old striker will hope to have a more prominent role in the team moving forward in the second season, and help the team secure some silverware.
