Confirmation has arrived that Pierre Kalulu will have to serve a two-match suspension after earning a red card for violent conduct during Juventus’s 1-1 draw with Lazio over the weekend, while the Biancocelesti have been informed that Mattia Zaccagni will also have to sit out of their next game.

Kalulu was sent off for violent conduct after appearing to hit Taty Castellanos in the back during the second half of the 1-1 draw between Lazio and Juventus in Serie A on Saturday.

At the time, it looked as though the sending off might have been particularly costly, as Juve were unable to hold onto their 1-0 lead, conceding a 96th minute equaliser, which temporarily lost them control of the race for the final Champions League spot in Serie A.

Fortunately for the Bianconeri, Roma’s 2-1 loss against Atalanta on Monday night means that Juventus are still in fourth place with two games to go.

As a result of his actions against Lazio, Kalulu will have to serve a two-match suspension, which means that his 2024-25 campaign is now over. He will be unavailable for both of Juve’s remaining fixtures against Udinese and Venezia.

Zaccagni was not sent off against Juventus, but picked up his 10th yellow card of the Serie A season, which means that he will have to serve a one-match ban in the next game between Lazio and the title-challenging Inter.

Fiorentina’s Lucas Beltran and Udinese’s Arthur Atta have also picked up one-match bans as a result of their fifth yellow cards of the season, while Monza’s Pedro Pereira has also been given a one-match ban for his 10th yellow card of the campaign.
