La Liga outfit Sevilla have on Saturday announced a departure from the club’s attacking ranks.
The player to have brought a close to his stint on the books of the Nervionenses? Stanis Idumbo.
Idumbo, for his part, is a 20-year-old attacking midfielder who broke into the first-team picture at Sevilla last season.
The Belgian racked up 14 La Liga appearances, chipping in with a goal and an assist along the way.
And in the process, Idumbo did enough to pique the attentions of one of French football’s leading clubs.
Earlier this week, word was forthcoming that Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco had set their sights on the youngster’s signature ahead of the upcoming summer transfer deadline.
And as alluded to above, after negotiations were subsequently kicked into gear between the parties, Idumbo’s Monaco switch has this weekend been confirmed.
As per a statement across Sevilla’s official website and social media platforms:
‘Sevilla FC and AS Monaco have reached an agreement for the transfer of Stanis Idumbo to the Monegasque club.’
