Barcelona are gearing up for their big game against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League this midweek.
The Catalans were hoping to play this game at Camp Nou, but the club were unable to receive the necessary permit for the return to the iconic stadium.
As a result, Barcelona will play at the Montjuic. But on a bright note, it appears this may be Barcelona’s last game at the Montjuic this season, with the club on track to return to Camp Nou by October 18, when they take on Girona.
One of the personalities who will be present at Montjuic during Barcelona’s game against PSG is UEFA president Aleksandar Ceferin.
Ceferin’s arrival in Barcelona has coincided with the fact that UEFA has confirmed Barcelona will play their next Champions League home game at Camp Nou.
That has been confirmed by the club’s website, which lists Barcelona’s game against Olympiacos at Camp Nou, instead of Montjuic.
UEFA’s official website suggests Barcelona’s next UCL game will be held at Camp Nou.
This is big news for Barcelona fans, as it implies that even UEFA are confident of the club making all the necessary arrangements in time to return to the iconic stadium.
The Catalans are slated to take on Olympiacos on October 21, three days after the derby against Girona, which will also be played at Camp Nou.
However, it must be noted that La Liga has yet to list the Girona game at Camp Nou, with the website simply showing that the venue is yet to be determined.
But the next home game against Elche CF has been listed at Camp Nou, which suggests that it is only a matter of time before the Blaugrana return to Spotify Camp Nou.
