Portuguese defender Guilherme Ramos has officially completed his reported-on move to Chinese first division club Beijing Guoan. The 28-year-old heads abroad after five seasons spent playing in Germany for Hamburg and Arminia Bielefeld. Transfermarkt reports that Hamburger SV have secured a €100,000 transfer fee for their little-used defender. Ramos did score a goal for HSV in the Pokal this year.

“Gui is an exemplary professional who has always put himself at the service of the team and shown full commitment from Day One,” sporting director Claus Costa noted in a club statement. “He was always there when he was needed and we will not stand in his way.”

“It was a great honor for me to represent a club with such a great history as HSV,” Ramos himself added. “I leave with unforgettable memories, friendships for life, and the knowledge that I gave my all in every moment. My chapter as a player here is over, but my connection to the club remains.”
