Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed his stance about taking over a Championship club
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made it clear that he is open to a return to management in the Championship amid vacancies at Middlesbrough, Norwich City, Swansea City and Southampton.
The former Besiktas head coach is currently out of work, but is looking for his next role after his departure from the Turkish giants earlier this season.
The Norwegian’s previous experience also includes time at Manchester City and the Swans’ rivals Cardiff City, as well as two stints in Norway with Molde.
It is a busy period in the Championship at the moment for out-of-work coaches, with four clubs currently looking to appoint new managers.
However, it remains to be seen whether Solskjaer will make his return to management at this stage.

Solskjaer has claimed that he is ready to make his return to management already after leaving Besiktas in late August, and that he’d be willing to take over a Championship side.
He’s admitted that he loves living in England, indicating a preference towards remaining in the country, but that he’d be open to any kind of role at the moment.
“I’m looking, I’m open,” said Solskjaer, via The Overlap on YouTube.
“It’s not like I’m desperate to be back in, but yeah I can be.
“I love living [in England] as well.
“You know when my kids ask me [where], I’m [telling them], mid-Championship and up.
“But I’m a football man, is it Norway or Sweden or wherever? It’s about working with people, and I just love trying to make them be the best versions of themselves.”
Solskjaer’s record at Cardiff was underwhelming, as he oversaw just nine wins from 30 games before departing just a few months after the club suffered relegation from the Premier League.
Meanwhile, his stint at Man United, in which he worked alongside both Kieran McKenna and Michael Carrick, saw him lead the club to sixth, third and second place finishes in the top flight, as well as the 2021 Europa League final.
The 52-year-old’s time with Besiktas lasted just 29 matches, having been appointed in January of this year.
Solskjaer was dismissed following the club’s failure to secure qualification for European competition due to losses to Shakhtar Donetsk and Lausanne-Sport.

Solskjaer to Swansea will put supporters off his appointment given his previous connections at Cardiff.
However, all three of Southampton, Norwich and Middlesbrough should be considering talks at the very least, as he has the potential to do well at Championship level.
His time at Cardiff was a struggle, with the team destined for relegation, but he showed at Man United that he can organise a side and get the best out of their top talent.
In particular, Solskjaer could be suited to the Southampton squad due to their attacking talent, but it remains to be seen whether they’d be willing to talk to the former striker at this stage.
