Nottingham Forest opened Oliver Glasner’s reign with a 2-0 friendly win at Notts County, his imprint already clear and a decision over Arnaud Kalimuendo looming.

According to Nottingham Post, training-ground patterns delivered both goals, Morgan Gibbs-White released Igor Jesus for the first, then Dilane Bakwa crossed for Kalimuendo’s header. A tidy clean sheet rounded it off.

Glasner said the moves closely reflected this week’s work, and he used a back three in both halves. He changed XIs at the break but kept the shape.

With Elliot Anderson gone to Manchester City for £116 million, midfield needs attention. Free agent Xaver Schlager is in line to sign and a second attempt for Lucas Bergvall is expected after a £38 million bid was rejected. James McAtee played deeper alongside Yates and looked comfortable.

Kalimuendo’s January loan to Eintracht Frankfurt carried a purchase option, and the German club want him at a lower fee. He strengthened his case with a second-half header, while Glasner was coy on his future.

Omari Hutchinson was lively without the final touch, and Bakwa impressed with his assist. Academy prospect Grady McDonnell caught the eye. Glasner will assess the squad in the coming weeks after a promising first step.
