VAR decisions in Serie A have sparked growing concern, as controversial calls continue to cause havoc across the league.
According to La Repubblica via FCInterNews, contentious VAR decisions have become increasingly frequent this season.
Mind-boggling VAR calls have directly influenced the outcomes of multiple matches in 2025/26.
Furthermore, players, coaches, and fans are voicing frustration over inconsistent and puzzling decisions.
Meanwhile, Serie A designator Gianluca Rocchi has been unable to solve this issue, casting doubt on his ability to restore trust in the league’s officiating.

After the opening 11 rounds, VAR interventions have corrected 42 of the 50 errors committed by the referees.
Indeed, this means VAR has corrected 84% of referee mistakes so far this season.
However, this figure is significantly lower than last season, when VAR boasted a decent 92% success ratio.
Moreover, eight incidents have already gone unsanctioned, several of which came at Inter Milan’s expense.
For example, Maurizio Mariani awarded a phantom penalty to Napoli, helping them beat the Nerazzurri 3-1.
