As part of OneFootball's collaboration series with Shoot Music we're interviewing an artist about their love of football and, over the next few weeks, it will be all about the World Cup.
Today it's the turn of England fans Joseph J. Jones & Good Health Good Wealth's Bruce Breakey.
How have you enjoyed the World Cup so far?
Joseph J. Jones: It’s been a bit like a cool pint of Carlsberg at the moment - good taste when it’s cold but when it starts warming up you want something different in regards to England. I think the tournament properly starts Wednesday though and I’m confident in the lads. The World Cup in general has been class. Loving watching the underdogs like Cape Verde and Ecuador doing bits. Bit of me that.
Bruce Breakey: Watching the game against Ghana in 35-degree heat in the hottest pub in the world in Whitechapel will stay with me for life. It felt like a stag do in Thailand or something.
How would you rate England's tournament up to this point?
Joseph: I think we’ve been good. Not blown away but I think the best is yet to come. [Thomas] Tuchel is still sussing out the strongest team and a master plan could be on the horizon. We’ll be fine.
Bruce: I think we’ve been fine, nothing terrible but nothing filling me with confidence bar a couple of good second half performances.
Has one England player in particular stood out?
Joseph: Marcus Rashford all day. The fella’s come back a new man being away from Manchester United. He’s playing like a fearless teenager again. He’s the only one for me who’s been creating a bit more than the others. Hope he starts against DR Congo
Bruce: [Declan] Rice but I’m probably biased as a Gooner seeing as he didn’t even play in the last game. It’s probably [Jude] Bellingham standing out, really, isn’t it?
What's been your biggest disappointment from England so far?
Joseph: Ghana was a bit lacklustre. The defence over all is worrying. I just hope we don’t say to Tuchel, “told you so”.
Bruce: The lack of attacking football, I want more of that Croatia second half energy!
How far do you think they will get in this World Cup?
Joseph: I’m saying a final. This year could really be the one.
Bruce: Obviously we’re going to win it, aren’t we!
