Orlando Pirates midfielder Selaelo Rasebotja has given the latest update on his long-term injury amid a prolonged spell on the sidelines.
The 24-year-old signed for the Soweto giants from the now-defunct SuperSport United on a free transfer at the beginning of last season.
However, he managed to only make 11 appearances across all competitions as his debut season was marred by an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury.
Now, with the 2025/26 campaign taking shape, Rasebotja has shed light on his recovery as he has been out of action since May 2025.
“I am fairly still in the early stages of my rehab and it’s still a few months to go until I come back,” the dynamic midfielder explained.
With the typical recovery time for an ACL injury between six to nine months, the School of Excellence graduate says he has received adequate support from Pirates during the ordeal.
“I think I have a good support structure in the team, the management, the coaches, and the medical team have always been in support of me, and they are really giving me the support that I need,” Rasebotja added.
“The club has put in resources at my disposal, to use and to make sure that I am mentally in a good place so that I can just focus on my rehab and making my way back and fighting for my position.
Rasebotja lifted the MTN8 title with the Buccaneers under the tutelage of then-head coach Jose Riveiro in the previous term.
