Otamendi a doubt for Arouca v Benfica, late decision expected | OneFootball

Nicolás Otamendi remains an injury doubt for Benfica’s trip to Arouca. The captain has been playing through physical limitations and José Mourinho has continued to select him.

According to Glorioso 1904, Otamendi is set to travel north with the squad today. A final decision on his involvement is expected on Saturday, and he could retain his place in the XI as Benfica look to respond to the 2-2 draw with Porto.

Dodi Lukebakio, who featured in the second half against Porto, and Georgiy Sudakov, who was unused in that match, should be available for selection.

Fredrik Aursnes and Bruma are confirmed absentees with muscle injuries. Aursnes is not expected back until April, which could put him in contention for the derby with Sporting on matchday 30.

Arouca, coached by Vasco Seabra, host Benfica in Liga Portugal Betclic on Saturday 14 March, matchday 26, with kick-off at 20:30 at the home side’s ground.
