Chelsea are ending a disappointing season on a high after a comprehensive victory over West Ham in Sunday's London derby.

Here's what we made of the action from Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have lost 11 times in the league this season, and the worst of them all came in that 5-0 defeat at Arsenal just under a fortnight ago.

It was the kind of dismal display that prompted much soul-searching around Stamford Bridge, with manager Mauricio Pochettino questioning the club's strategy, and many supporters questioning Pochettino's.

If that night at the Emirates was the Blues' rock-bottom, they have bounced back impressively since, with a draw away at Aston Villa followed up by home victories over Tottenham and now West Ham.

The last two games in particular have suggested there is light at the end of the tunnel for Pochettino's young team but so often this season, that hope has quickly been dashed by the light of an oncoming train.

They are now seventh in the table with three matches to go. If they can keep the good vibes going until the end of the season it could put a very different complexion on their summer, and give them a solid foundation to build-on next season.

Ending on a low

It seems David Moyes's time as West Ham manager is coming to an end, with reports this week suggesting Julen Lopetegui could be the man to replace him in the hotseat this summer.

And after this result, you'd do well to find a Hammers fan who won't be ready for a change in the dugout.

Moyes has delivered European football to the London Stadium in the last three successive seasons, and will always be remembered fondly for delivering the Europa Conference League trophy last term.

But his side are now without a win in their last four matches, having shipped 14 Premier League goals since their last win, and it's now looking very unlikely they'll be playing European football in 2024/25.

The 70 goals conceded by his side this season is the most by any team the Scot has managed, and he is still yet to win an away game at Chelsea in his entire managerial career, with this being his 19th attempt.

It's time for a change.

In the Nic of time

The poster boy for Chelsea's struggles this season has often been Nicolas Jackson, with the Senegal striker's lack of composure in front of goal epitomising their season.

Yet his coolly taken brace in the second half on Sunday suggested Jackson could well have a bright future ahead of him after all.

At the start of the season he targeted 15 Premier League goals and he now has 13, with five league assists to his name too. It's not amazing, but it's not too bad either, all things considered.

Meanwhile, Cole Palmer got on the scoresheet again to take his tally to 16 Premier League goals at Stamford Bridge this season, equalling a Chelsea record held by Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard, while Conor Gallagher and Noni Madueke both found the net too.

It was a very good afternoon for pretty much everyone in a Chelsea shirt, and one they will hope to look back on as a real turning point.
