CF Montréal remain one of the more frustrating sides in MLS in recent seasons, but Ghanaian striker Prince Owusu may be the man to give L'Impact fans something to cling to.

The German-born forward continues to go from strength to strength for the Quebec-based outfit, and an inspired goalscoring performance tonight against D.C. United just may have kick-started the club's 2026 resurgence in earnest.

After DCU jumped out to a comfortable 2-0 lead before the half-hour mark, the former Toronto frontman netted the first of three strikes on the night at Audi Field in the first minute of stoppage time to cut the deficit in half.

The 29-year-old would bag his second (61') in the wake of a 51st-minute Tai Baribo penalty, only to look on as Montréal went 4-2 down in the 87th minute thanks to Lucas Bartlett.

But added time would belong to Owusu when he completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot before turning provider to set up Ukrainian youngster Gennadiy Synchuk, who made it four-all six minutes into added time.

With that, Owusu became just the second player in Montréal history with four goal contributions in a single outing, alongside former club star Ignacio Piatti.

Now sitting on nine MLS goals this season and on course for a best-ever goal return in a single season, Owusu may be the Prince that was promised.
