Pablo Hernández attracts widening interest, with Elche enquiring | OneFootball

According to Superdeporte, Elche are the latest LaLiga club to enquire about Pablo Hernández as they search for a new coach after Eder Sarabia’s exit.

Hernández took charge of Castellón on matchday five as interim and won his first three games. Performances improved markedly, and in November he signed an extension through to the end of 25/26.

Under his watch, Castellón went close to a first division return after 35 years. Elche are weighing options for 26/27, with García Pimienta the preferred candidate, the former Sevilla coach whose possession game mirrors Sarabia’s build-from-the-back style.

If the Sarabia signing is not possible, Hernández has moved up their list in recent weeks. His bold, vertical approach fits the project Sarabia put in place, and his age and potential appeal for a longer-term plan.

The Castellón coach has also been linked with Osasuna, who have already appointed a coach, and Girona. Even so, he has prioritised Castellón and awaits a renewal offer. In February he called the club his home, said he was happy and ready to stay.
