Olympique de Marseille have confirmed Pablo Longoria is to leave the presidency after six years, following an agreement with McCourt Global on his exit terms, the club said in a statement.

Longoria arrived in 2020 as sporting director, then stepped up to president in 2021 after Jacques-Henri Eyraud left.

The club praised his commitment, passion and work in service of OM, and wished him every success for the next stage of his career.

He thanked Marseille for its trust and expressed deep gratitude to employees, players and supporters who shared the journey.

His departure follows a turbulent spell in which owner Frank McCourt limited his remit to institutional duties amid the crisis after Roberto De Zerbi left in February. He had been negotiating his exit with McCourt over the past month and was reportedly unhappy with the reduced role.
