Palace open to new Wharton contract that could include release clause

Crystal Palace are open to offering Adam Wharton a new deal that would include a release clause.

The England international is highly sought after with the former Blackburn Rovers man often linked with the Premier League's biggest clubs.

According to journalist Sami Mokbel of BBC Sport, the release clause would likely be valued around £75 million – a figure that could well entice the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United.

Wharton has been a key signing for the Eagles since his arrival at the club midway through the 2023/24 season, playing 51 times for the club and making seven assists.

Oliver Glasner's side have started the 2025/26 campaign well, sitting third in the table and will take on Dynamo Kyiv in the Europa Conference League this evening.
