Tottenham Hotspur were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Saturday evening.Wolves had the game’s first chance when Jorgen Strand Larsen’s header inside the six-yard box went wide.Spurs responded in the 15th minute, as Xavi Simmons delivered a cross into the area for Mohammed Kudus, whose header was saved by goalkeeper Sam Johnstone. Both sides had chances to score before the half-hour mark. Lucas Bergvall’s right-footed shot from inside the area failed to hit the target, and Hwang Hee-Chan suffered the same fate moments later.Wolves continued to threaten and squandered another chance in the 38th minute, as Jhon Arias’ effort went off target.Three minutes later, Bergvall’s shot from Kudus’ pass could not test Johnstone, but the latter’s effort was saved by the English goalkeeper on the brink of halftime.Deep into first-half stoppage time, Matt Doherty almost silenced the home fans when his right-footed shot hit the post.Wolves took the lead in the 54th minute with a stroke of fortune. Ladislav Krejci’s header was saved by Guglielmo Vicario, but it hit Joao Palhinha, allowing Bueno to score from close range.Bueno nearly made it 2-0 in the 74th minute, when he collected a pass from Arias, but Vicario parried his first-time shot away. The hosts continued searching for the equaliser and almost got it when Joao Palhinha’s long-range effort hit the crossbar.Deep into stoppage time, the crossbar could not deny the Portuguese from salvaging a draw for Tottenham when he buried the ball into the bottom corner.According to OptaJoe, Palhinha’s strike was the eighth goal scored in the 90th minute (or later) in the Premier League on Saturday- the most in a single day in the competition’s history. The result sees Tottenham lose the chance to climb to second on the table and stay three points clear of North London rivals Arsenal, who play at Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon.
