Palmeiras arrive in Colombia for Libertadores opener against Junior Barranquilla

According to Globo.com, Palmeiras landed in Cartagena, Colombia, on Monday night to start their 2026 Libertadores campaign, and will face Junior Barranquilla at 21:30 on Wednesday at the Estadio Jaime Morón León.
The travelling party mirrors the group that went to Salvador for the Bahia match, with goalkeeper Aranha and forward Erick Belé added. Vitor Roque, who is treating ankle pain, and Paulinho, in advanced physical reconditioning, are also included.
The squad train in Cartagena on Tuesday, when Abel Ferreira is expected to shape his line-up for the opener. Palmeiras are in Group F alongside Cerro Porteño of Paraguay and Sporting Cristal of Peru.
Confirmed absentees are Piquerez, who has undergone surgery on his right ankle, and Jefté, sidelined by a right thigh injury.
Before travelling, Palmeiras trained in Salvador on Monday morning after Sunday’s win over Bahia. Players who completed more than a half did recovery work, while the rest, including Paulinho, trained on the pitch. As planned, after the FIFA international break he has begun to take part in full group sessions.
