Palmeiras confirm Weverton has a hand injury: ‘Nothing serious’

Palmeiras faces Flamengo this Sunday (19), at 4:00 p.m. (Brasília time) in a decisive match for the Brazilian Championship, at Maracanã. As leaders, Verdão comes into it riding a good run this season.

Goalkeeper Weverton suffered a fracture in his right hand and will undergo conservative treatment under the care of the Health and Performance Center. The number 21 will be out of the match against Flamengo, a decisive clash in the Brasileirão.

Hey, Palmeiras Family. Unfortunately, I had a fracture in my hand, which will sideline me for a few days. Thank God it wasn’t anything serious, but a hand is always important for a goalkeeper. It’s time to treat it, recover well, and come back 100%, but I won’t stop exercising my leadership within the team. I won’t be able to play, but I will definitely be in the locker room, present day to day, bringing calm. We’re at a very important moment in the season, decisive games, and everyone is very important. I’m sure whoever Abel chooses will do very well.
