Palmeiras have finalised a deal to loan Raphael Veiga to América of Mexico until the end of the season.
According to Globo.com, the midfielder is due in Mexico in the coming days for medical tests and a presentation.
Veiga will bid farewell to team-mates at the club’s Academia de Futebol on Friday.
Before the move, he extended his contract to the end of 2028, the previous deal ran to December 2027. The loan carries no fee and includes an option to buy, with figures undisclosed.
He accepted the switch believing he had lost ground at Palmeiras and was no longer producing as before. The presence of Brazilian coach André Jardine at América also worked in the club’s favour.
Last season he battled injuries and inconsistency. Even so, he made 53 appearances in 2026, scoring seven and providing 11 assists.
At Palmeiras since 2017, Veiga became a club idol and one of their most decorated players. His 109 goals are the most by any player for Palmeiras in the 21st century.
