Palmeiras have opened talks and lodged an opening €15m offer for Zenit centre-back Nino, who is also on Flamengo’s list of targets, according to Band Sports.

The bid, roughly R$ 87.7m at current rates, is below the Russians’ valuation, but Palmeiras are aiming for a positive resolution.

Zenit are holding firm and want €20m, about R$ 117.1m, to sell the 29-year-old.

Nino is contracted to Zenit until June 2028. He has played 29 matches, scoring once and providing one assist, averaging 84 minutes per game.

Flamengo retain an interest in Nino but have not made an official bid. Their current centre-backs are Danilo, Léo Pereira, Léo Ortiz and Vitão.

With the transfer window yet to open, Flamengo focus on Sunday’s meeting with Vasco at 16:00 Brasília time in the 14th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
