According to Globo.com, Palmeiras have triggered a purchase option to sign midfielder Larson from Goiás on a contract until the end of 2030, with the fee around R$ 4 million. The 20-year-old has been training with and featuring for the first team.
He previously had trials at Internacional and Flamengo, came through at Brasil de Pelotas, and impressed for Goiás’ under-20s before finding first-team chances in his debut season at Palmeiras.
He caught Abel Ferreira’s staff’s eye late in 2025, making two senior appearances, off the bench against Santos in November then starting against Ceará in December.
This season he has faced Portuguesa, starting and supplying the decisive assist, came on after 15 minutes of the first half against Santos, and started against Novorizontino.
At under-20 level he played 32 matches, scored three goals and won the 2025 national title, a grounding that sped up his adaptation and brought more opportunities under Abel.
Larson said the move fulfils a dream and that he worked hard after arriving for the under-20s to reach the senior side. He added he intends to keep his feet on the ground while continuing to work and develop.
He also explained his name was inspired by Henrik Larsson, chosen by his football-mad father, who named his other son Thierry after Thierry Henry, and he joked his mother called a halt there.
