Palmeiras trio return after World Cup, Vitor Roque trains fully

Palmeiras welcomed back Paraguay internationals Gustavo Gómez, Mauricio and Ramón Sosa on Monday, while Vitor Roque completed the full training session.
According to Nosso Palestra, the squad resumed work at the Academia de Futebol as preparations for the season restart continued.
Paraguay knocked out Germany in the round of 32 then fell to France in the last 16. Among Palmeiras players, only Flaco López remains at the tournament with Argentina.
The day began with activation in the Centre of Excellence, followed by build-up, passing-lane, movement and finishing drills using poles and inflatable mannequins. A technical workout on a reduced pitch featured 11 v 11, and Roque, in physical transition, trained throughout.
Mauricio returned after a week’s rest from his first World Cup, having scored against the United States and taken the opening penalty in the shootout win over Germany. He described the tournament as a dream and a unique learning experience.
He said he had followed TV Palmeiras’ training games during the inter-season, kept in touch with team-mates and now feels refreshed as he readapts. Palmeiras continue preparations for the second half of the campaign, leading the Brasileiro as reigning Paulista champions and still involved in the Libertadores and Copa do Brasil, competitions the club view as priorities for 2026.
