Paraguay World Cup trio expected to rejoin Palmeiras next week | OneFootball

Following Paraguay’s World Cup exit on Saturday 4, Gustavo Gómez, Mauricio and Ramón Sosa were given a few days off and are expected back at Palmeiras in the coming days.

According to Nosso Palestra, their return is initially scheduled for Tuesday 14, when they will undergo medical tests and begin preparations for the second half of the campaign.

With Gustavo Gómez as captain, Paraguay produced a historic run, eliminating Germany in the second phase before losing to France in the last 16.

Gómez featured in every match and played every minute. Mauricio made four appearances, all as a substitute, while Ramón Sosa played only 10 minutes in the opening game.

Of the seven Palmeiras players at the World Cup, only Flaco López remains in contention for the title. Emiliano Martínez and Piquerez went out in the first phase, while Jhon Arias was eliminated by Switzerland in the last 16 on Tuesday.
