According to Foot Mercato, promoted Paris FC are in talks to sign Marseille striker Neal Maupay as they seek added firepower.

Talks are said to be progressing well, and the club are confident of concluding a deal in the coming days.

The capital club invested heavily last summer and remain active this month as they aim to secure top flight status. They sit 13th in the table, have added Marshall Munetsi on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers, while Luca Koleosho arrived from Burnley on a temporary deal that includes an option to buy.

Reinforcing the forward line remains a priority. Paris FC have explored profiles such as Mathys Tel, who has struggled for minutes at Tottenham Hotspur, and Edin Džeko. Džeko is set to join Schalke 04, leaving Maupay as the primary target.

Maupay was frozen out of the Marseille squad earlier this season after Roberto De Zerbi deemed him surplus to requirements. He trained away from the first team before being reintegrated in recent months, and he has scored in the Coupe de France.
