Eintracht Frankfurt have entered into a far-reaching, long-term collaboration with ice hockey club Löwen Frankfurt.

Eintracht Frankfurt and Löwen Frankfurt are entering into a far-reaching, long-term partnership. The deal not only sees Eintracht become a minority shareholder in the Frankfurt ice hockey club, but also take on major roles in the areas of marketing, merchandising and digitisation.

A key part of the collaboration involves Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG taking on integral commercial operations on Löwen Frankfurt’s behalf, in a move which also sees Eintracht acquire a 10 percent stake in the club, making the Eagles minority shareholders. This part of the deal underlines the two clubs’ intention to work together on a long-term basis and continue to build on – and harness – the strengths of both organisations.

By entering into the partnership, the two parties are not only sending out a clear statement of support for Frankfurt as a professional sports hub, they are also laying the groundwork for an even more professional and sustainable organisational structure at the German Ice Hockey League (Penny DEL) club.

Another of the partnership’s main goals is to develop key areas of Löwen Frankfurt’s management, as well as to strengthen its financial position and continue to digitise company operations. To that end, Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG will assume control of sponsorship, hospitality marketing and merchandising operations for Löwen Frankfurt from next season onwards. Löwen Frankfurt will also make use of Eintracht and sister company stackwork’s data-driven club management technology, bringing its fans even closer to the club in a digital sense.

Axel Hellmann, Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG CEO, said: “Through this partnership, we’re pooling our expertise in Frankfurt’s professional sports scene and creating new opportunities for the economic development of Löwen Frankfurt. Our experience and expertise in marketing, as well as in the professionalisation and digitisation of club management, will help to further strengthen Frankfurt as an ice hockey hub, which fans, partners and the city as a whole will benefit from.”

Stefan Krämer, managing partner of Löwen Frankfurt, added: “The partnership with Eintracht Frankfurt is an important step towards guaranteeing the long-term sustainability of Löwen Frankfurt. We’ll benefit from the expertise of a leading professional sports club in Germany while continuing to refine and expand our own identity as a Frankfurt-based ice hockey club. Along with our co-partner PRANGE, we initiated the strategic development of Löwen Frankfurt in 2024 – and it’s a path we continue to follow.”
