Leeds United star Patrick Bamford has spoken of his "delight" after receiving an award at the annual Football Supporters' Association ceremony earlier this month.
With more than a quarter-of-a-million votes cast, the FSA Awards are the largest supporter-led awards in the country and Bamford topped the fans' vote to take home their first ever Goal of the Year trophy.
Nominated alongside ten others, Bamford's stunning strike against Peterborough in the FA Cup won over efforts from players including Cole Palmer, Moises Caicedo, Jude Bellingham and Jhon Duran.
Sandwiched between two Ethan Ampadu goals in the Third Round of the FA Cup, Bamford latched onto a high ball from the United captain, before swivelling on the spot and smashing in an outrageous volley from 25 yards out, to score one of the greatest goals by a Leeds player.
On picking up the award, the Leeds United forward told his Instagram followers that he was "delighted to win the very first Goal of the Year from the Football Supporters' Association", before thanking "fans from all clubs who voted" in this year's awards.
